PRODUCT OF THE MONTH: 2xu High Performance Compression Wear

Let’s talk about 2xu …. 2xu is pronounced “two times you”. In other words, this gear is designed to multiply your performance (hence the slogan “Human performance. Multiplied”).

2XU compression garments have a higher compression rating than other brands, making them stronger, more compressive and more durable. They are up to 25% more compressive & 40% more durable than Skins and other brands of sports compression gear.
2XU is an Australian based company & is relied upon by the AIS, Australian Triathlon Team and many other national and international sporting teams.

2XU is the only sports compression garment that uses circular knit 360O compression, as used in the medical industry.
Why use compression garments?

If you are a sports fan, you have probably noticed that more and more athletes are training & competing in compression garments (some notable examples include Cricketer Brett Lee, Triathlete Emma Snowsill, and Jonathon Thurston (Rugby League). Research has proven that wearing garments that provide graduated compression have the following effects:
· Improved blood circulation
· Improved lymphatic drainage
· Improved ability to feel joint movement and position (proprioception)
· Reduced muscle vibration/oscillation

This results in improved:
Performance-
Faster warm up and improved oxygen circulation
Enhanced lactate removal from muscles while exercising
Improved coordination, efficiency, stability & agility
Heightened body position awareness
Reduced fatigue
Recovery-
Reduced perceived post-exercise muscle soreness
Reduced muscle trauma & delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS)
Reduced swelling & blood pooling post exercise
Improved lactic acid clearance post exercise
Air travel and associated health risks-
Reduced risk of DVT (economy class syndrome)
Reduced swelling & blood pooling

The range of compression garments available at GCPSH include:
Elite Compression Tights & Compression Tights
Compression Shorts
Long Sleeve Compression Top
Compression socks (great for travel, racing & recovery)
Calf/shin compression guards (with and without stirrups)
Short sleeve, sleeveless and thermal compression gear can be ordered on request.
